I am Marc Wenz, a video editor with 10 years of experience. I am passionate about creating visually appealing videos that can make an impact in someones life. Throughout the years I’ve learned 3 of the most important things in video editing; Storytelling, Efficiency & Creativity.
Storytelling
A good video is a good story. One of the most important things in video editing is to know how to tell a good story, it is important to express the message of the video in a way that builds up the story. It doesn’t matter how many effects, transitions & visual elements you can create, what matters most is where and when will you decide to use them, Will it help the video to communicate the story? or will it be a distraction?
Efficiency
Efficiency in video editing is an important skill to learn. If you keep repeating the same thing over and over again means that you are not editing efficiently.throughout the years I’ve learned to master my softwares and how to use them efficiently from using custom shortcut keys and a systematic workflow that complements my editing style. I learned to be fast without compromising the quality of the videos. I make sure that no time is wasted when I am editing.
Creativity
Being creative in video editing is essential to a great video, I learned to just enjoy the process of making an awesome video and let my mind do the work. Being creative involves a lot of trial and error to ensure that the video is visually appealing and entertaining. If you’re making a video and you have nothing to show, why make a video at all? Why not just make an article about the script? Creativity is the key to an excellent video.
